CHOBE
NATIONAL PARK
Chobe Safari Camps
Chobe National Park is
Botswana's third largest park and is certainly
its most diverse. Chobe's habitats include
riverfront thickets (along the Chobe River), rich
grassland, floodplains, and forests of acacia,
baobab and mopane trees. Chobe's famous Savute
Marsh, made popular via a number of wildlife documentaries,
is a popular destination for those wanting to witness
the zebra and wildebeest migration plus large numbers
of elephant and predators. Overall, the park
is rich with a variety of wildlife, birds and trees.

rich wildlife haven with an abundance of elephants,
predators and other plains game. The marsh

The camp accommodations

tent also has a private deck overlooking
the floodplains. Other facilities include
a heated swimming pool, satellite phones
on request and a fully stocked bar.
Activities
include game drives in 4x4 vehicles and scenic
flights (helicopter or fixed-wing - at extra
charge). Herds of migrating zebras
and wildebeests appear in the thousands in

Muchenje Safari Lodge
Muchenje
Safari Lodge lies just outside the remote northwest
corner of Chobe, along the Chobe River. Muchenje
is the only lodge in this area and it therefore
offers an experience away from the busier sections
of the park to the east.
The lodge accommodates
only 20 guests in 10 chalets. The chalets
sit on an escarpment with incredible views
over the Chobe River and floodplains inland. There
is a swimming pool built into the natural
rock and overlooking the river which provides
a unique and relaxing setting.
Due to its
setting outside the park's western boundary,
night drives are permitted and encouraged! Being
so far removed from the rest of Chobe's lodges
also creates a more intimate experience for
Muchenje's guests. The wildlife and
birding in this area are excellent. |
