Adventurer Safaris

Xigera Mokoro and Walking Trails
2-night / 3-day Camping Safari
Xigera Mokoro TrailThe Xigera Mokoro Trails have set departures from May through October on 3-day excursions designed to take advantage of the arrival of the Okavango Delta floodwaters.  The safaris depart from Xigera Camp, deep in the Okavango Delta and set off deep into the Okavango waters for an incredible adventure.

Guests will ride in the flat-bottom canoes of the Okavango's Bayei people (the "River Bushmen").  These canoes, called mekoros, are the traditional mode of transport for the Bayei and this safari will consist of daily mekoro rides amidst the myriad islands, with stops on the islands for walking and exploring.  Camp sites will be set up on islands for overnighting.

Truly a brilliant experience and highly recommended!

Chitabe Walking Trail
2-night Walking Safari
Chitabe Walking TrailThis safari focuses on exploring the region around Chitabe Camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta on foot.  A walking safari has always been regarded as a way to truly get in touch with the spirit of the African bush.  An armed and highly trained walking guide will accompany guests on 2 days of walking (several hours of walking per day) with plenty of time for viewing wildlife and birds along the way.

Nights are spent in specially designed, elevated hides located in different sections of the concession.  One hide overlooks a lovely floodplain, while the second is situated along a grassy savanna which is popular with grazing elephants.  Both hides offer an experience of sleeping amongst the sounds of the African night while offering the safety to sleep comfortably.

Most guests combine this safari with a night at Chitabe Camp before moving on to their next destination.
